Madeline Carril, MSW, LMSW
My name is Madeline Carril. I am a clinician at Artemis Counseling. I earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University and a Masters in Social Work from Washington University-St. Louis, MO.
Before transitioning into the field of counseling, I taught in the St. Louis area for four years in both public and private schools. During my time as an educator, I was often drawn to social emotional learning and would create and hold space to support students as they processed their emotions in a safe, non-judgmental environment. This experience led me to pursue a career as a therapist. While completing the Masters program, I worked with families during traumatic experiences and supporting their transition to care. Also, served as an intern therapist at an agency that works with children, youth, and families and provided family and individual counseling to clients in all age groups. This led to the enjoyment in working with a diverse group of clients and developing a strong therapeutic alliance with each of my clients.
Prior to coming to Artemis full time, I worked with a group that supports and empowers adolescents at social emotional based camps helping them navigate the transitions and relevant issues of their age group. My experience includes multiple modalities such as cognitive therapies, family therapies, and emotion focused therapy. I work with individual adolescents, young adults, and with parent support experiencing the following:
Adjustment disorder
Anxiety
Trauma
Difficulty with Transitions
Depression
Grief
Family Relationship issues
Disordered Eating
Low self-esteem
